2011 Summer will be Hot, Hot, Hot, for Wedding Flowers!

This spring has been one for the record books. The unusually gloomy weather has put my mind on summer and hopes of warmth and sunshine. Summer weddings are some of my favorites. The types and colors of flowers available are endless, leading to some of the most stunning, unique bouquets ever created. From the brides we are working with, 2011 will be a summer to remember.

Michelle Mospens has been helping brides with their color decisions since 2001 and according to her research, "The 2011 year in color will not only be BRIGHT and amazing, it will also be vintage, earthy and sun washed."

Bright and bold seem to be the most popular at Blooming Envy. It is so wonderful to put together designs that really pop with colors such as fuchsia and bright yellow or deep purples and bright lime greens. Brides are requesting the use of bold orchids, callas, gerberas, daisies and roses to bring this trend to life. Besides color, bouquet bling is also a must this year. Brides are truly after something they can call their own.

Vintage/retro bouquets are also gaining in popularity with soft pastels, one single flower type used in masses and lots of greens. Think, romantic, picked from the garden, look. This style is great for a comfortable, casual family oriented wedding. For 2011 Brides that are embracing the "Good ole' days", light pink and gray/silver is a hot color trend.

Regardless of your flower or color choice, hand-tied bouquets still top the list of most requested style.
